All Ages Welcome

My skill level: I can teach double stops, vibrato, shifting, specialized bow techniques and other skills needed to prepare intermediate students for advanced playing. I have experience introducing the violin to beginners. I am an advanced player and have studied some of the major violin concertos, including the Beethoven, Bruch, and Mendelssohn Violin Concertos with private teachers. I also have studied most of Bach's solo works for violin.

Location: My apartment in North Campus.

Teaching Approach: I do not use a special method, I am a "coach" who believes there is no one solution to technical challenges (mostly because each violinist is so individual). However, I do like using the music in the Susuki method books for beginning students who are children. Students are expected to buy and bring their own music books.

Am I easygoing, or strict? In between. I try to maintain a friendly rapport with students, but also the attitude that lessons and practicing are serious work, not just fun or recreation. The violin is one of the most difficult instruments to learn, but is also perhaps one of the most rewarding.
